If you land at EuroAirport, sleep here, 10 minutes from the airport, and reach the park well rested the next morning: it's often much better value than a night at the park's own hotels, and the motorway runs straight there.

Yes. Central Basel is 15 minutes by car — or park at Saint-Louis station (6 minutes) and take the train, just 7 minutes to Basel. You get the city by day and sleep on the French side, where rooms cost noticeably less.

Basel and its museums (15 min), the Vitra Design Museum in Weil am Rhein (9 min), La Petite Camargue Alsacienne on foot (1km), Colmar and the Alsace wine route (about 45 min), Freiburg im Breisgau and the Black Forest (about 45 min), Europa-Park (about 1 hour).
